Shalan Hill

Co-Founder, The Posture Project

Shalan Hill, is a healer and lightworker, that is honored to assist you to find more freedom along your life journey. Shalan is a Licensed and Certified Massage Therapist (CMT & LMT) and a Certified Yoga Teacher.  She was featured in the Manduka 2012 Summer Catalog. She is also a Beyond Quantum Healing Practitioner, offering virtual and in-person sessions, and is well studied in Energy Medicine, offering Energy Tune Ups to her clients. Shalan is a seasoned CranioSacral Therapist, having completed training in CST I and CST II. Shalan was raised in Amarillo, Texas.

Shalan began her study of yoga in 1998 and has been teaching since 2001 in the Woodstock area.  Her initial years of experience with Yoga trained her in the Hatha Yoga (traditional) style with focus on Kundalini Yoga which involves Pranayama (breathing techniques to promote energy movement and balance).  She completed her credentials for her 200 hour Yoga Alliance training gaining more knowledge of the Iyengar tradition and started her own Ashtanga practice, as well.  She continues her yoga training weekly to gain more insight and options for her students.  Having her own recent experiences with PTSD and a Limbic System Impairment, Shalan was forced by her body and mind’s conditions to maintain a very gentle yoga practice. Interestingly, her focus has always been mainly teaching a gentler style of yoga to beginners, people with limited bodies, and older bodies, and is well versed on prop usage for her students’ comfort and freedom.

Shalan intuitively listens to the needs of the energy of the group while getting specific with the actions of your body, breath, and focus in each pose.  Appreciated for her clear instruction and nurturing presence that makes yoga easy and non intimidating for beginners. She educates her students & clients about their body and shares informational tools to empower them to enjoy better health & Well-Being resulting in less pain and less fear. Sometimes playful, sometimes laser focused, her intuitive blending of delightful poses throughout her Yoga Classes and transformational meditations has created an enriched yoga community.

Shalan graduated from The Academy of Somatic Healing Arts (ASHA) massage school in Norcross, GA in 2000 with certificates in Neuromuscular Therapy, Sports Therapy, and Swedish Massage. She has worked with chiropractors and has experience with massage in spa and yoga settings.  She specializes in working with the subtle energies of the body through CranioSacral Therapy, Reiki, and Polarity/Energy Balancing.  Shalan also excels in Myofascial Release, Postural Balancing, and pain relief.  Her trusted touch and intuition balances and calms her massage clients both physically and energetically. Shalan saw the value of combining bodywork and yoga to help people achieve and maintain greater balance and health in their life and was inspired to open The Posture Project, with her partner, Ann Pauley, in 2003 to empower their community toward greater Well-Being.

Shalan also loves to learn about the healing benefits of food and loves to share what she has learned with Wellness Coaching Sessions.

Jigna Patel

Yoga Instructor

Yoga is a way of life for Jigna. Yoga is her sacred practice to live in this secular world. Jigna is originally from India and started practicing yoga in her elementary school years. In 2010, she moved to Georgia and joined a non-profit organization which focused on spiritual enrichment and Self-development.
Jigna’s credentials include 200 hours of hatha yoga, 150 hrs. of pranayama and Level 1 Yoga Nidra teacher training. She is an Iyengar yoga practitioner since 2018. She is continuously practicing Iyengar yoga and pranayama with her mentors online. She is also continually learning yoga philosophy (yoga sutra of Patanjali), Shree Mad Bhagwad Gita and Vedic Contemplation online since 2018.
Jigna’s teaching style is alignment based and preparative for the beginners. As students understand basic alignments and progress in their practice, she takes their practice towards intermediate and advance postures. Because of her Iyengar (practitioner) background she can modify postures as needed using different props including yoga chair, bolsters, belts, blocks, blankets etc.
She strongly believes that the personal yoga practice will shift the inner energy in some way on some level, if not all levels; and the journey for Self-development will begin.
