Shalan began her study of yoga in 1998 and has been teaching since 2001 in the Woodstock area. Her initial years of experience with Yoga trained her in the Hatha Yoga (traditional) style with focus on Kundalini Yoga which involves Pranayama (breathing techniques to promote energy movement and balance). She completed her credentials for her 200 hour Yoga Alliance training gaining more knowledge of the Iyengar tradition and started her own Ashtanga practice, as well. She continues her yoga training weekly to gain more insight and options for her students. An experienced teacher, Shalan has been focused mainly on teaching yoga to beginners, people with limited bodies and older bodies.
Shalan intuitively promotes a gentle style of yoga that listens to the needs of the energy of the group while getting specific with the actions of your body, breath, and focus in each pose. Appreciated for her clear instruction and nurturing presence that makes yoga easy and non intimidating for beginners. She educates her students & clients about their body and shares informational tools to empower them to enjoy better health & Well-Being resulting in less pain and less fear. Sometimes playful, sometimes laser focused, her intuitive blending of delightful poses throughout her classes and transformational meditations has created an enriched yoga community.
Shalan graduated from The Academy of Somatic Healing Arts (ASHA) massage school in Norcross, GA in 2000 with certificates in Neuromuscular Therapy, Sports Therapy, and Swedish Massage. She has worked with chiropractors and has experience with massage in spa and yoga settings. She specializes in working with the subtle energies of the body through CranioSacral Therapy, Reiki, and Polarity/Energy Balancing. Shalan also excels in Myofascial Release, Postural Balancing, and pain relief. Her trusted touch and intuition balances and calms her massage clients both physically and energetically. Shalan saw the value of combining bodywork and yoga to help people achieve and maintain greater balance and health in their life and was inspired to open The Posture Project, with her partner, Ann Pauley, in 2003 to empower their community toward greater Well-Being.
Shalan also loves to learn about the healing benefits of food and loves to share what she has learned.

Marina Irastorza has been working in the Healing Arts for +25 years helping people thrive by feeling good and functioning well.
Her passion for working with and understanding of the human body began with a bachelor’s degree in Health Science Education from the University of Florida in 1992. Soon after becoming a mother, in 1995, Marina began helping new mothers by doing post-partum Doula work that included wellness and family education with support counseling through a non-profit organization, The Nurturing Program in Gainesville, Florida. During this time Marina was introduced to REIKI healing and after further exploration of this healing modality that focuses on the Life Force energy within us all, Marina began to further explore the field of therapeutic touch, completing a certification in Bodywork and Massage in 2000 from the Florida School of Massage. A decade later, massage therapy led to chiropractic school where she completed the Doctor of Chiropractic program with and emphasis in Network Spinal Analysis from Life Chiropractic College in Mariette, Georgia. Marina received the honor of having her research project, that she compiled and wrote on the benefits of Network Spinal Analysis, published in a chiropractic peer reviewed journal: Improvement in Vision in a Patient with Diabetic Retinopathy Following Network Spinal Analysis Care, Irastorza M, Knowles D, Knowles R. Annals of Vertebral Subluxation Research. February 16, 2012. pp 25-30
While in chiropractic school, Marina began to intuitively work with the energetic body. During this time, she began to develop the ability to see the natural bio-magnetic field surrounding the body, and the subtle energies within the body. This led to the practice and training of a body and breath centered meditation known as, Heart Rhythm Meditation (HRM). In 2010 Marina opened her first practice in Atlanta, Georgia, where she began practicing and developing her form of intuitive bodywork that she calls Heart Center Bodywork, along with other bodywork modalities. Marina is currently integrating sound therapy into her work which began in 2018. She is certified in Vibrational Sound Therapy from the Vibrational Sound Association that focuses on one-on-one individual sound therapy sessions. She is also certified in Sound Therapy Healing from the Sound Embrace Institute where the ‘world of sound therapy’ has come to life within her and where she finds herself exploring this wonderful world of sound and all of the benefits it offers.
